01 -
Bake 2 yellow sheet cakes, 2 chocolate sheet cakes, and 1 cotton candy dome cake. Allow all cakes to cool completely after baking.
02 -
While cakes are cooling, prepare yellow-tinted buttercream frosting.
03 -
Place the dome cake on a cake board matching its size. Frost the dome cake with buttercream and chill for 20 minutes. Roll out black fondant and cover the chilled cake, smoothing it with a fondant smoother. Trim excess fondant. Insert a bubble tea straw in the center.
04 -
Cut a square piece of cardboard. Color its edges with a black edible marker. Cover it with icing and black fondant, trimming excess. Attach a black fondant circle in the center with corn syrup and adhere a ribbon. Complete assembly with melted chocolate or royal icing, steaming to remove powdered sugar residue.
05 -
Form a cylinder shape using Rice Krispie Treats. Cover the cylinder in buttercream, then wrap it with white fondant. Add fondant circles at the ends and secure with buttercream. Wrap the diploma with a red ribbon.
06 -
Place the chocolate sheet cakes side by side on a large cake board. Layer with frosting, then place the yellow sheet cakes on top. Frost the entire cake smoothly.
07 -
Pipe yellow buttercream roses using a star tip along the top and sides of the cake. Add dowels or straws for support where the diploma and cap will be placed. Finish with fondant lettering for 'Congratulations Class of 2024' on the cake board.
